What are the Treatment Options for Paraphimosis?

Treatment for paraphimosis depends on your age and the severity of your condition. Generally, the first step in treating paraphimosis is to reduce the swelling. To do so, your healthcare provider may apply some ice over the area and wrap a bandage around the penis. He or she may also use a needle to drain any pus or blood. Once the swelling has reduced, your doctor will try to move the foreskin back into position.

However, for severe cases of the condition, you may require surgical intervention. A complete foreskin removal surgery is typically considered to be an effective treatment for paraphimosis. Additionally, this will also prevent the condition from reoccurring. There are primarily 3 methods of performing foreskin removal surgery:

What To Expect After Paraphimosis Surgery?
