A number of factors affect cosmetic surgery cost. While some factors are general, others are treatment-specific. So, here we are focusing on the general factors, and you can discuss the surgery-related factors with the doctor. The general factors affecting cosmetic surgery cost are-

• Surgeon & Anesthetist’s Fee- One of the major factors that influence the surgery cost is the surgeon’s fee. An expert cosmetic surgeon will likely charge a higher fee for consultation and the procedure. Along with the surgeon’s fee, the patient also needs to bear the anesthetist’s fee. 
• Type of Cosmetic Surgery- There are various types of cosmetic surgery performed on various body parts. Depending on the body part which is being treated, the cost of surgery will also vary considerably. 
• Technique Used- Several techniques are available to perform cosmetic surgeries, such as laser technique, excision, liposuction, etc. The cost of each technique varies from the other and significantly impacts the overall cost of the treatment. 
• Diagnostic Tests and Evaluations– The doctors often recommend several tests before proceeding with the surgery. The most commonly performed tests are X-ray, mammography, MRI scan, biopsy, etc. While individual tests might not make a significant difference, the combined cost of all these tests can increase the treatment cost. 
• Type & Location of the Hospital/Clinic- Medical and surgical treatments are usually costlier at private hospitals and clinics compared to government medical facilities. Furthermore, the city and location of the treatment center also affect the cost. If the center is in a metro city, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc., the treatment cost will be higher. If the center is in Tier-I and Tier-II cities, the cost will be lower.  
• Hospital-Related Expenses- The patient will have to bear various expenses at the hospital too. These expenses include admission fees, room rent, ICU charges, OT charges, nursing fees, meals charges, medical consumables, discharge fees, and others. These expenses make up most of the surgery cost. 
• Post-Surgery Care- Even after getting the procedure done, the patient will have to cover the cost of prescribed medications, such as antibiotics, pain medicines, anti-inflammatory medicines, etc., and support garments/tools, such as nose strap, chin strap, compression vest, etc.

Besides the above-mentioned factors, there are some other minor expenses borne by the patient, such as post-surgery follow-up consultation fees, travel expenses, etc.
