Phaco Surgery Cost in Delhi

The cost of phaco surgery is covered by health insurance. This procedure is carried out to treat cataracts, which is considered a medical necessity. You can talk to your insurance provider and understand the terms and conditions of the policy and the claim process. 

The cost of different types of cataract lenses is given below- 

• Monofocal lens- Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000
• Multifocal lens- Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 75,000
• Toric lens- Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 90,000
• Monovision- Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 70,000

Unfortunately, health insurance policies only cover the cost of a standard monofocal lens. If the patient chooses a premium lens, he/she has to bear the lens cost on his/her own. 

Typically, phaco surgery takes around 10 to 15 minutes. The exact duration varies for each patient, depending on the severity of the condition. 

It can take 4 to 6 weeks to recover completely after phaco cataract surgery. The recovery timeline will differ for each patient depending on his/her healing abilities. The doctor also asks the patient to wait for at least 6 weeks before getting his/her prescription glasses. 

Generally, phaco surgery or any other type of cataract surgery is not performed on both eyes simultaneously. Surgery on both eyes will make it difficult for the patient to perform basic regular activities. Thus, the patient is asked to wait at least a month between surgeries on both eyes.
