Generally, based on the surgical technique, there are 3 different types of surgeries – conventional thyroidectomy, endoscopic thyroidectomy, and transoral thyroidectomy. Immediately after the surgery, the patient needs rest, pain and thyroid replacement medications, wound care, etc. Moreover, thyroidectomy surgery leaves the patient in a permanent state of hypothyroidism, so the patient needs thyroid replacement medications and regular TSH tests to ensure there are no postoperative complications.
