What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat different veinous disorders. During sclerotherapy, a solution is injected directly into the affected veins, causing them to shrink, collapse, and eventually fade away.
The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, leading to the formation of scar tissue that closes off the vein. Over time, the body absorbs the treated vein, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins.
In recent years, sclerotherapy has seen growing demand for treating even anorectal disorders. Its minimally invasive nature, effectiveness, and relatively low risk of complications have made it an attractive option for treating conditions such as hemorrhoids.
